Where are programs offered?
First Tee – Naples/Collier currently delivers our Life Skills Programming at 8 Golf Courses in Collier County.

How much does it cost?
The cost of the session varies depending on the number of weeks it is offered.

What equipment does my child need?
Junior golf clubs, golf balls and all learning equipment is provided by First Tee, Coach, and/or the  program facility. If a child has their own golf clubs, we recommend bringing them to each class. If your child is bringing their own clubs, please label the clubs to help make them easier to identify.  A piece of colored tape just below the grip or just above the club head works well.

Appropriate clothing is required. Proper golf attire consists of a collared shirt and long pants or golf shorts. Any type of golf or athletic shoe is appropriate. If you are in need of golf attire, please contact a First Tee Staff member for assistance.

How do I sign up for programs?
First Tee – Naples/Collier is utilizing an online registration system.

Can my child miss a week or more?
As we are a youth development program, we teach and practice the nine core values: two of which being responsibility and perseverance. Attending class regularly is an easy way to practice being responsible and honoring one’s commitments. We understand, things do come up and people do become ill, schedule family vacations, ect. so we understand missing a program occasionally. Parents need to contact either the Lead Coach or the Director of Programming and let us know if your child will not be at program.  We ask that if your child is in the Birdie, Eagle or ACE programs that both the parent and the participant contact us about missing program. This will help in planning for that weeks program.

What happens if program is cancelled due to weather?

In the event of storms (which are typical in Southwest Florida), First Tee – Naples/Collier may decide to cancel the program.  In the event that the program is canceled, you will receive an email 90 minutes prior to the start of that program (if possible). First Tee – Naples/Collier will guarantee that at least 7 of the 9 scheduled programs will be held.  If more than 3 program are cancelled in a session, class will either be extended in future weeks or added as an additional week at the end.

What is the cancellation policy?

First Tee – Naples/Collier will provide a full refund if cancellation is requested in writing more than 1 week of the start of the program session. If requested after that point a partial refund or a credit can be provided.

What can I expect when I show up to program?
Each program will last approximately ninety minutes. Instructors will deliver First Tee curriculum inclusive of the “Nine Core Values” as well as other life skills. All areas of the golf game will be covered as well.

What ability and age levels does the program include?
Participants will work on a particular curriculum and be evaluated on skills and knowledge from the beginning level (PLAYer) to advanced levels (ACE). Children ages 7 – 18 may participate.

How long does it take to complete the entire program?
First Tee Life Skills program is developed to be an ongoing program all the way through high school.  Each certification level has requirements set by First Tee Home Office including: Number of program hours completed, a written evaluation, golf skills evaluation, & completion of the Life Skills curriculum.  For more information please reach out to the Director of Programs.
